The Knowledge Network is working with The Whitehaven Academy in Cumbria to deliver a free week-long summer school to primary school children in the area. The week will teach them all about the exciting world of games coding.
The summer school, called Geek Week, will be held between Monday 28th July and Friday 1st August and will teach children how to code in a fun and safe environment and design and build their own games.
Jacki Smith, Acting Principal at The Whitehaven Academy commented: “Geek Week offers a fantastic opportunity to learn and to apply new skills and meet new friends over the summer. We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity in the community and are excited to be able to host this coding experience. I know that those who attend will gain so much from the experience and join us later in their educational careers with an improved skills set and a good understanding of the academy”.
